I find pleasure in the little things,
I seek you and your dark places.
I crave you to satisfy my appetite and when you cannot,
I would rather go to bed hungry,
praying and longing for more of you.
You make my heart full.
I partake in our love as an outsider at times,
sitting across the room in a restaurant
and admiring the glee on the couple in front of me.
Instead of arguments over what to order,
it’s back and forth comparisons of who loves who more,
instead of who will pay the bill,
it’s who will carry the other through tough times
and when the time for dessert comes,
we lick our lips in anticipation of the tomorrow,
when we will get to taste this sweet love again.
